HELP! What do you think of these family names?

OK...here is what I need. What names (girls and boys) can you come up using our parents names. I don't want to combine them just a variation of them. Their names are Nicholas, Carol, Kenneth (Ken), and Vicki. I love Nicholas as is, but not fond of the others and that is why I want variations of them so they will still be named after our parents.

I want to clear up something. I don't want to make up a name, just another variation of it. For example....Vicki to Victoria.

Also their middle names really suck! Eugene, Jean, Ray, and Darlene....surnames are Baldwin and Ramey.

Any ideas? I like Ramey as a name though.

I asked this once already but got rude and bad answers! Please help!

Thanks!

There are lots and lots of variations of the other names, which you can find on sites like behindthename.com. I'll list some.

Carol comes from the latin name Carolinus, which was later translated into other languages and became Carol, Charles, Carl, Carlita, Carla, Charlamagne, Charlotte, Caroline Carolina, and any other variation you can think of.

Kenneth is an anglicized version of Coinneach, which is an Irish name. Variations are Cinead (Scottish), Kennet, Kenna, Kenzie, McKenzie, McKenna, although all of the ones with "Mc-" at the beginning, mean "SON of Kenneth" so I don't hink you should use those ones for a girl (I personally hate them because they're too trendy)

Vicki is short for Victoria, which is a feminization of Victor. Victoire is a French version of Victoria.

I really like Eugene. Gene for short is very nice, in my opinion. Ewan,  Eugenio, Eugenie, Eugenia, Gena, Owen, Yvain, are other variations.

Jean is French for John, and can also be used for a girl. When the Normans invaded England the name became Jane, Janet, Jan,  Jeanette, Joan. Jehanne is also a french form of it. (Jehanne d'Arc, or Joan of Arc)

Ray is short for Raymond. I don't like this name at all.

    Darlene is also aweful

I really like Baldwin because it means "brave friend", and Ramey is kinda nice.

  6. You could name a girl Nikki in honor of Nicholas, Carolyn for Carol. I don't know, I tried, Victor for a boy for Vicki. Raelyn for Ray.

  7. Carol: Cara, Caralyn, Caroline, Carolyn, Carly, Carlos, Carl

Kenneth: Kendall, Kenley, Kenson, Kenton, Kineth, Keith

Vicki: Victoria, Vickilyn, Vickley, Victor, Vicksen

Eugene: Eugenia, Eugenie, Gene, Genie, Jeanie, Jean

Jean: Same as Eugene! And Jensen

Ray: Reia, Rayna, Rhea, Rae, Raylin, Raylee

Darlene: Dory, Darcy, Darlyn, Dylan, Darryl

  8. Nicholas Ray

Carrie (carol) Jean also Carolyn Caroline

    Kenneth = Ken, Kenny

    Vicki = Victoria,  Tori

  9. Nick/Nicky/Niki/Chol(said like cole)

    Car/Cary

    Ken/Kent/Kenn

    Toria/Tory/Tori/Vic/ Ria

  10. How about the following:

    -Kendall

    -Caroline

    -Nicholette

    -Nicole

    -Carly

    -Carlton

    -Carson

    -Kenan

    -Kendra

    -Kendrick

    -Kennedy

    -Kenzie

I hope this helps!  Good luck (:

  11. Carolyn is very sweet for a girl... Maybe Darlene can be Darla or Dalenna... i prefer Baldwin as an actual first name though... You could also try for Vicki- Victor, Vivy, and Victoria is a very beautiful name... if i went for traditional names for my children that would have been a top pick.

  12. For Carol: Caroline (f), Carolina (f), Charlotte (f), Charles (m), Carolyn (f)

For Kenneth: Kennedy (m/f), Kendall (m/f), Kendra (f), Kenna (f),

    For Vicki: Victoria (f), Vittoria (f), Victoire (f), Vica (f), Victory (f), Victor (m), Vittorio (m),

There are many variant forms of the name Carol. For a detailed list check out these websites: http://www.thinkbabynames.com/search.php...

    http://www.babynamer.com/Carol

There are also many variant forms of the name Victoria. For a more detailed list check out this site: http://www.thinkbabynames.com/meaning/0/...

Because the name Jean is a French variant of John, you could always use John and other variants. Variants of the name John include Evan, Johan, Ewan, Ivan, Jack, Giovanni, Sean, Eoin, Ian, Shane and Jenkin. Jane is the feminine form of John. Giovanna and Gianna are Italian forms of this name.

    Personally, I like the combinations:

Nicholas Evan, Victor Kennedy, Gianna Caroline, Charles 'Charlie' Kenneth, Jack Nicholas, Carolina Victoire, Victoria Jane, Charlotte Kennedy, Giovanna Kendall...

  13. Carol- Carolyn,Vicki-Victoria,Kenneth-Kenny,Nic... Jeanette, Ray- Raymond,Darlene- Darla, Darlena,, are these what you were wanting?

  14. Nicholas- Nikolai, Nike, Nick, Nichole, Nicolette, Nicola

    Kenneth- Kenny, Kent

    Vicki- Victor

  15. Kenny, Caroline, Nick, Jeannie, Raymond, Lena, Lene, Len, Ramsey

Afraid that's all i can think of.

  16. Nicholas - Cole

Carol - Carolyn (poss. nickname Lynn), Carol is also the feminine form of Charles, Charlotte

Vicki - Victoria (poss. nickname Tori), Victory

    Eugene - Gene, Genie

    Jean - Jeanine, Jeanette

    Kenton Dare

    Charlotte Victoria

    Kendall Jeanette

    Carolyn Darla

  17. Sorry if you consider this as a bad answer, just an idea, I know you said you don't want made up / combined names, but you could honor all of the parents if you have a girl and for her middle name use Rayleen, or with a boy use Raymond - combiniations of their last names.

  18. yeah i juss watched secret life of the american teenager

  19. Ok, let me see what I can come up with...

Nicholas -- Claus/Klaus, Nikolai, Nico/Niko, Colin, Niels, Nickolo | Nicola, Nicolette, Klasina, Nicole, Nikolina...

Kenneth -- Kenan, Kenji, Keoni, Mackenzie, Kendrich | Kenina, Kendra, Kenichi

Vicki --  Victor, Vitya, Vincent, Victorius | Victoria, Violet, Vittoria...

  20. Nickolas, Nicole, Nicoli, cole, Nick, Nikky or ie, Nikkita, Dominick.

Carol, Carla, Carley, Carlita, Carl, Carlos, Carena.

Kenneth, Kent, Kenny, Kenya, Kensly, Kensington.

Vicki, Victor, Vick, Vickinta, Vincent, Vicktory.

Darlene (which is my moms name), Delaine, Darla, Darlita, Darion.

Eugene, can't really think of any for this, I don't really like it.

    Jean, Jeanette, Jenny, Jenson, Jeanie.

Ray, Raymond, Ramon, Rayson, Raya, Rayna, Raylynn, Raynick.

I like the name Ramey as well, I think it would work great as a middle name. This is all I can think of off the top of my head, I hope it helps.
