We planted a sumac tree only 2 years ago but in those 2 years it was growing sprouts like crazy. We cut out the tree, stump and all, which was only about 5 feet high. Now, the roots that we did not get are sprouting in a distance of about 10 feet in length and about to 4 feet deep going down in our window wells. I have tried roundup on every sprout I find which is about 3 sprouts per week but it just is not doing the job. Can Anyone help me PLEASE!!!!!!!!

Also, it is hard to dig up the sumac roots because the sprouts are coming up next to the trunks of the other new plants I have.

  1. When you find a sprout, cut it off and paint  Crossbow on the fresh cut, repeat as needed.

  2. If you still have a stump, get your cordless drill and drill 6-8 holes in the stump (about 2-3" deep.   Poor a small amount of concentrated round-up into the holes.  This should do it in.

  3. i think you need to get ALL roots out or they will keep coming up
