Question:

HELP! Which online TESOL course is recommended??

I'm looking at signing up for a good, recognised and accredited online TESOL course. Basically, I am interested in teaching English to kids in developing countries (Asia, Europe, South/Central America). Anybody who has done/completed such courses and are currently TESOL teachers? Your feedback would be appreciated.

I understand that it is important to pick a recognised course which will allow for more job opportunities and issues specialist certifications. Also, which course is more suitable and recommended? ie. CELTA, TESOL, TEFL?? Also, does it matter if it is from an American, UK or Australian institute? I just really need a good one which offers good support, tutors and job placement help. But it has to be an online thing as I am currently employed during the day.

  1. I teach English in Korea and have done so since 1997.  If you want to study on-line, here are some sites that may be of interest for you.  Your certification does not matter to the Asians whether it is from the USA, Australia, or other institute.   In fact, many will start you out with just a B.A. in any subject, provided you work on the TESOL to obtain the proper certification.  The government issuing the Work Visas are the sticklers for the Certification.  Good luck.
