HELP! With my 9 YEAR olds HOMEWORK! ?

It's Language arts, there are 2 sentences, we have to find out what is wrong with them and fix the problem.... Here are the questions with the number of things wrong with them at the end. written exactly how it is on his paper. we found 8 things wrong for 8 but not 10

a. many stories is told about washingtons honesty said leslie (10)

b. leslie continued he probably didnt cut down his fathers cherry tree (8) things wrong

Everyone else has just been putting the correct sentences, and I agree they (for the most part) all look correct, but nobody has really answered if there are actually 10 mistakes for the first one. It looks like people only found 8, and since this is homework for a 9 year old, it probably won't be graded too harshly. I would assume it's a typo and move on.
