I just imported some pictures to my computer from the memory card, and for some reason they went to my photo-shop AND my windows photo gallery, i selected the ones i wanted from my photo-shop and then deleted the rest, i then proceeded to delete the ones i didn't want from my windows photo gallery, little did i know, i was deleting them from the memory card.. some of these photos were not mine to delete...they were my Mother-in-laws.. PLEEEEEASE is there any way to retrieve these photos from my computer... are they buried deep in my computer somewhere just waiting to be fished out? i understand this might just be wishful thinking but i figured it doesn't hurt to ask.

thank you in advance for any help, have a great day:@)

  1. You can probably recover your photos with a file recovery program.  Just go to Downloads.com and search for file recovery.  There are plenty of free programs to do this.  I've done it before.

  2. Go on 'my computer' and click 'search' and when the search thing comes up, click search for photos/pictures.

This will find every picture on your computer and if they are on your computer, they will be there!

    Good Luck!

  3. They might be still be in your recycling bin check there first.  If you deleted them from your recycling bin then they're pretty gone.

well... yes they are buried deep in the computer.  when you delete something it actually stays there potentially forever.  Windows just treats the location its stored at as free space.  So the next time you save something windows might use that space for you new files, and only then will your pictures be gone.

However, its is so difficult to retrieve them, that it would probably be better if i told you that they were just gone forever.  edit: maybe its not as difficult as i thought.
