HELP! can you tell me how to solve this fight

Question

HELP! 4 boys fighting over yugio cards! ages 6,8,9,10 saying whose belong to who etc. it is chaos what would you do?

Bag up the cards.  Ask each one to write down what he had.

Compare the numbers.

The best solution to fighting over a cake:  Let one boy cut it and the other boy choose his own piece.  (Boy, do they learn how to cut even pieces.)

Ask the boys to each write down (or tape record) how he would solve the issue.  

Sit down around the table and have each one pass his page or tape one or two persons to the left.  Have the person holding each record be the agent to present that persons' case.  Keep a tally of cards they'd return.

If they are unable to resolve it, gather the recoreds (papers/tapes).  Now decide if the exercise needs to be extended or if it's best to resolve immediately by disposing of the cards - then follow through.

(Kids need more than labels for "right" and "wrong," they need to be given experience with the tools we use in our society to resolve issues.

let them earn the cards

make them all do chores or work for you and the one that does the best give him the cards. its a good way to take the day off

and if they all do the same amount of work than keep giving them more work

they'll just keep competing

Find out which cards whose ownership can be agreed upon and give those to their owners. Put the rest in a hat and let each boy take a turn pulling cards until all cards have been taken.

Then to avoid future confusion let them put their names on the cards.

i tell u what u should do u should sit them down and get the cards put them in the bin and say  if u don't stop fighting over these cards i will get the cards and put them in the fire and u will start by strach and when u do that get them to put  them in a box with their own name on it and tell the boys that u can't swap with each other

take the cards away from them and say its time that they need a break from the cards and play something else to get themselves back on track, calm, and having fun together. GOOD LUCK!!
