Today i watched the news and they had a story about a grade 12 boy from a school nearby. They said that he stabbed a 16 year old boy at his school to death and injured another boy and to workers. They also reported that he listens to slipknot and other heavy metal bands and they think their satanic image and violent music could have done something to him to make him commit the crime. I'm not a fan of slipknot because i find heavy metal too messy ...but i find it unfair that when ever someone kills themselves or someone commits a crime they blame on the music!!! Like that girl who committed suicide and they said it was because of MCR music. I say that's an excuse to avoid some real issues and they cause of this. They say that 15 people kill themselves everyday or every minute or something and like 50 crimes are committed every minute in south africa and i bet some of those people listened to Dainty Kane and Chris Brown . So does that make them evil and influencing mass murdering killing at public schools. This might be harsh but there is someone right now shooting someone and i bet in the morning who was listening to "i kissed a girl" and it didn't make a difference. They blame music to avoid deeper issues and they will never be solved if they accept that its not music sure music influences you...but not to kill somebody!!! Whose with me?

  1. I agree! In high school I listened to Slipknot, Lamb of God, and other tacky metal metal music. I'm not a killer. h**l, I have a hard time squishing bugs.

  2. Yeah I don't think music is the cause of it but many (not all) people that listen to that emo screamo **** are a little messed up to begin with. That's probably why people blame it on music.

  3. Don't you not think maybe he has a psychological problem?

  4. i agree. i listen to MCR and i have never thought of suicide or killing someone.

music cant be blamed. i think people just use it as a scapegoat.

  5. THOUGH I THINK THAT SLIPKNOT IS A POOR EXCUSE 4 WHAT SOME MAY CONSIDER MUSIC, THERE'S A HIHGLY UNLIKELY CHANCE THAT MUSIC CAUSED DEATH.

MUSIC IS SUPPOSED TO HELP RELEASE ALL THOSE UNWANTED FEELINGS.

AND IF METAL IS SUPPOSED TO TELL U TO KILL YOURSELF THEN WHAT ABOUT RELIGION? FOR EXAMPLE, IF YOU'VE EVER LISTENED TO A RECORDING OF A PRAYER AND THEN SLOWLY PLAYED IT BACKWARDS HIDDEN MESSAGES CAN BE FOUND(AND NOT THE GOOD KIND EITHER).

WHAT I DONT UNDERSTAND IS WHY THEY WONT PLAY HARDCORE MUSIC AT SCHOOLS, ETC. YET THEY WILL ALLOW THAT THUG "MUSIC" THAT PROMOTES BEATING WOMEN, DRIVE BYS, MURDER, AND PROMISCIOUS s*x.

THE NERVE OF THOSE WHO BELIEVE THATS WHAT METAL DOES TO YOU.

  6. Hmmm well everyone is different, and people's brains work differently.

It might not just be the music that's making them do what they do, but more the message the music plays out.

I listen to MCR too and some of their songs are cool, but others are sort of like wtf is this even about, so idk.

  7. I agree with you 100% i mean i heard a similar situation when blink-182 were still together. They said a kid committed suicide after he listened to Adam's Song and i don't think people should blame the artists for whatever situation that kid was in.I think people should either blame the kid's parents or the kid and they should take responsibility for there own actions and not go around blaming famous people just cause they wrote a catchy song that their kids listen to.Their just doing there job as entertainers.

  8. I AGREE WITH YOU!!..music should not be replaced by the personal problems the people have, people ignore the kids personal problems..what if a 13 year old girl liked listening to cannibal corpse and commit suicide people blame it on the music! they are soo dumb! they forget the fact the girl might be suicidal, maybe she has problems with family, school and friends...its kinda like stereotype for example i have noticed people think everything has a part in everything that happens like f this guy killed someone its blamed on what music they listen to,what shows they watch, but its viewed like this:

-guy who killed a girl that listens to abba and the beatles...people ignore the music and says he has personal problems

-guy who killed a girl that listens to slipknot,metallica,blacksabath...people blame the music!....

..BUT its possible to be influenenced by music,tv,movies etc..and most ppl think its supernatural stuff

  9. This is SUCH a 1980's style news story! Blame the heavy metal, blame the satanic music....Forget the parents, social problems and genetics...The music made him do it, right? So millions of people listen to this stuff, (and have been since the 80's) and none of them go hacking people up, do they? No! Only a few random psychos that probably have major issues anyway go doing this stuff. There were also big 80's stories about teens who did this stuff due to 'music' and in this day and age such claims sound equally lame. Yeah, how many of us grew up killers? Not many! I thought this c**p died out long ago, seriously!

Some psychos happen to like loud, satanic sounding music. Other psychos listen to Beethoven, so what? Should we blame classical music for corrupting people's minds? How about I go nutty in a grocery store, kill everyone and blame it on the fact that I keep hearing 'Dancing Queen' by ABBA and I finally snapped. It was ABBA's fault, they made me do it! Right?

People killed people long before music was around. The reasons they do it are anyone guess. If music really made normal, healthy people commit crimes, more people would do it because a LOT of people listen to all kinds of music. Music doesn't kill people. People kill people. It's stupid that this is 2008 and people are still claiming it's the fault of 'satanic' music.

Nobody wants to say the truth: He probably killed people because he had mental problems and has stupid, inattentive parents who did not get their son help when they noticed something was wrong! Hey and if you don't agree with my post, the evil satanic music made me write it, so it's not my fault if it sucks!

  10. I like slipknot.

    I like MCR.

    I like heavy metal.

    No, I love heavy metal.

And I couldn't be more smiling. more happier.

    It's in excuse.
