HELP: giving credit to artists at deviantart,com

i was downloading brushes, but when i used it and was done, i couldnt find the person who made them. so if i cant give them credit will i get into problems? what can i do to find them?

ps. it was a "random curve brush"

  1. Your best bet would be to use a generic credit.  Something like "Used brushes by an artist on DeviantART.com. Please contact me if you know who created them."  Then at least you are attempting to give credit and pointing people in the right direction.

    In all honesty it would probably be really hard to tell exactly which brushes you used so the odds of getting "into problems" is slim but I always advocate trying to give credit where credit is due, especially seeings as they were kind enough to create and let you use the brushes.

    [edit] for future reference it's usually a good idea to try to keep track of where resources come from.  I usually sort all the resources I get into folders or keep a text file stating sources.

    e.g. when I download stock images I put them into folders like this:

    stock\website\artist

    or keep a text file (we'll call is PSBrushes.txt) with entries like this:

    brush name - web site - artist name
