  1. What you need to find out first is how does one apply to each of the agencies, there could be differences, and most agencies don't like calls.  Agencies do not cost anything except if you are picked  you will have to get photos and comp cards made, could cost a lot of money, but it is needed. So, you find out how to apply and then you ask mum to apply for them to represent you.  Now it may be too early to ask her to do this.  First you need her to approve of your becoming an actress.  Better ask her about that. If you have been in a lot of plays and she thinks you are good at it, maybe she will go along with it.

  2. hey i get scared too when asking my mom to email the modeling agencies but not any more. first you should bring up the agency lightly like look in a magazine (a fashion one) and say wow she looks so amazing i wonder how they get in the magazines or if u want to go for singign or acting then just say wow they act good i wonder how they got a cd or a tv show and then ask ur mom "mom how do they get on magazines/cds/tv shows" and then be liike wow i want to be with an agency because i would love to do (whatever you want to do) and then be like maybe like the ctef talent agency could probly help me and then go off from there

  3. Being an actor or entertainer or model is to face rejection every single day.  Learning to not let that affect your feelings of self confidence or self worth is the only way to survive.

If you are modeling and the designer has his heart set on a 6' tall Asian woman and you are a 5' 9" red head with freckles, chances are you are going to rejected no matter how good a model you are.

If you are acting, and the script calls for an African-American athletic 20 year old man and you are a thirty something couch potato woman who REALLY wants the role, you have to persuade the casting people and the director that you ARE the character in the script and nobody can do the job better than you.

If you can't convince someone who loves you to call an agency for you, then you need to work on your selling skills.  Because if you can't sell your mom, you'll never sell someone who is looking for talent.

Bottom line, get a job selling.  Do it sometimes in character.  Learn how to engage a customer (audience,) by drawing them in, accepting your suggestions, and closing the sale.  If you do it well, they leave with a smile on their face and will ask for you again.  Those skills translate directly to what you want to do.

When your mom sees how focused you are, she will be more likely to help you on your way.
