  1. Get a car (if you must) that has a small engine under 2Litre and yes keep your speed steady and try not to do stop start journeys, plan a route that will take you from a-z with as few a stops as possible or maybe grt a car that can run on combination fuel such as cooking oil or part electric.

  2. catch the bus

  3. If you already have the car, remove any extra weight/drag which is not required (such as golf clubs from the boot, roof racks etc) and ensure the car is maintained (tyre pressure especially).

    The biggest key to help reduce fuel consumption is to avoid using the brakes (believe it or not).

    If you have to use the brakes, it means you used fuel to increase/maintain speed which was just wiped out with the brak application. Try to get into the habit of lifting off the accelerator pedal earlier instead of using the brakes.

    If you have a fuel injected engine with a manual transmission, shift down gears as you slow down also - all the time the engine is decelerating (instead of idling while your foot is on the clutch pedal) the fuel system stops injecting fuel.

  4. Walk

  5. My five tips are;

    1:Use a high gear

    2:Don't use air conditioning uses up horse power

    3:Keep your tiers inflated properly

    4:Don't make unnecessary journeys

    5:Don't use a roof rack it creates drag
