this is my last time using my old computer. it is a HP Pavillion 513n running Windows XP SP3. it did have a verry verry VERRY bad virus problem but i was using it perfectally before it shut down. here is the story of what happened. i just got a new laptop and i wanted to transfer my music and other c**p from my old one to my new one. it always acts wierd i dont have time to explain what i mean by that. but i was starting to transfer files when i noticed that i needed my keyboard, so as i stood up to plug it in i tripped over the power cable and accidentally unplugged it from the wall. i did not have the keyboard plugged in cause my computer wont startup with one plugged in. but now it wont startup at all. i try to turn it on and it boots to the page that says boot in safe mode, boot normally etc. i have selected every option and it starts to load up and then just restarts itself. i disabled auto restart and it came to a blue page that says "a problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer."

then it says "PROCESS_INITIALIZATION_FAILED" at the bottom it says " Techinical information" "*** Stop: 0x0000006B (0xc000009c, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)" it tells me to boot it in safe mode but i cant. i NEED those files on my computer. please help me thanks. i will do anything to try and get those files. i have VERRY important documents that i need. sorry about the length.

  1. I had a similar problem. My stupid little brothers got a virus on the pc and after scanning the hard disks with several anti virus programs, the pc gave up and every time it started it would ask for which mode to boot in [safe, normal, etc] and it would start but when it showed the Windows loading screen it would turn off. So i think that problem is coming from a virus. ANYWAYS... your best bet now is to take the HDD out of the pc, hook it up to your laptop with an IDE>USB adapter and try to get the files off that way. However be careful as to not infect your laptop as well. I hope this helps

  2. To backup, you need to physically take the hard drive, set the jumper to slave, and connect it to a working computer that has a operating system in it. When you boot up, the computer will display the current hard drive and your hard drive, Then just open, copy, and paste.

  3. Well good news is i could help you... Bad news is it will take way to long for me to type here.  If all you need is the files off of it then there are a few ways to get them off.  First you will need an external hardrive or something to transfer your data to.  Next you will need a copy of a live iso cd. Such as Ubuntu or Xubuntu.  Then alot of other c**p.  Like i said i wish i could just keep typing but i cant.  Message me if no one else.  Another easier way is place in your windows cd and run the repair mode.

  4. This is what I use. http://www.topmicrousa.com/bt-300.html

  5. Take out the hard disc, buy a new laptop, transfer the file in ur hard disc to the new laptop

  6. Buy a external hard drive case, take the hard drive out of your old PC put it in the case plug it into the new laptop and copy directly from it.
