HELP! i got these crazy ants in my apt,?

we are living in the carribean my husbands going to school here any tips on how to get rid of these ants, i keep my place spotless....i dont understand this.

Crazy ants, if that's what they are, respond well to bait. Don't try to mix your own stuff like some people say (cinnamon-and-sugar-gal for instance). The real stuff you can buy in stores is great. Whatever you do, don't buy anything with strychnine in it. You could end-up poisoning yourself... to death.

I'm not sure what you have available there, but if you can find an exterminator who will use bifenthrin, cypermethrin or cyfluthrin and use it safely, you'll be in good shape.

Fipronil may be necessary.

They aren't too tough to kill.

Use a mix of cinnamon and sugar. The ants will pick up the sugar, along with the cinnamon, and take it back to their queen. Ants can’t digest cinnamon and once the queen dies from not being able to digest the cinnamon the colony will die without her.

You could buy some ant traps and set around near the places where they are entering. I've had success with them. I think they are called Terro ant traps. Good luck.

They like the coolness, it's not always food.

Use ant poison (bait)--the kind that comes in a packet and you stick underneath counters and stuff. If you don't want that stuff in your home, vinegar.  With vinegar you have to repeat more often.
