  1. You'll only be able to know what weight you'll need once you're in the water wearing what you intend using (wetsuit, etc). A bit of trial and error will be needed. I'd suggest you buy a belt plus a few weights and then see how it goes. You may need to add or remove individual weights to get the correct buoyancy.


  2. go to a shop  and try them on..yes that seems like a good idea..it doesn't matter on how much you way your body shape is different so you may be 60kg and might need a small but another 60kg may need a medium.

  3. Depends where you are diving (cold-thick suit- more weights), in what gear (dry suit etc) and what type of weights you want (soft-in pocket weight belt or hard-threaded onto belt).

    The best bet is to buy the longest one you can find (the webbing is not expensive) and then adjust it to suit. Cut to length (done up, weights on, six inches hanging free).

    The cut end should then be heat treated with a hot iron or a flame (in a similar fashion to nylon rope to avoid fraying).
