I gobble up these crappy teen romance books (rachel hawthorne, clark, etc.) and after time every boyfriend i go through im like "hmm well todd doesnt do anything like jake does in the book" and then im thinking, well its not real so forget about it. but subconciously i think im un-satisfied with guys because of all the books ive read. so i just read more and more of the books and im getting obsessed with them. i really need some approach to help myself get over this *obsession* any ideas or does anyone feel the same?

(btw this is my first ever question so im new to all this)

  1. I completly know what your talking about! i dont think that there is any real cure, you just have to be able to realize the guys in the romance books arnt real, guys like that dont exist(however much that we wish they did!)  the writer creates his/her character so that the reader will want them/ want to be them. For example, Edward, in the Twilight Saga, hes the ideal guy, the one that every girl searches her whole life for, and as a result, the reader compares that character with every guy she meets in real life, and mabey ends up missing out on some really great ones. Its just a risk of reading the books. But ill take the trade off anyday! lol. BTW, a GREAT series to check out is the Twilight Saga by Stephenie Meyer(referenced above). I think you would really enjoy it!
