  1. DON'T BE AFRAID!

Both Italy and Greece are cool!

In Greece, almost everyone speaks at least english, movies in TV are left with their original english language.

Security at the airports is very polit and not strict. Relax! You are not going to visit a war zone!

  2. Greece and Italy are relaxed countries, you have nothing to worry about!

If your worryed about taking something your not suppose to go to the airport websites and they should list it, also the most they will do is just tell you to take it out.

AND if your not sure, always put it in your lugage not your carry on.

You'll have so much fun, I always do when I go!

  3. nth like that happens in greece or italy

they are nice white christian poeple unlke arabs and turks

  4. Get a Greek-English handbook and an Italian-English handbook too.

Don't leave the group. Go to the washroom or down to breakfast with a buddy.

Always know where your passport is; never trust it with a stranger.  Use your manners.  Make sure you know what you are allowed to have onboard the plane.  Write down the address of your current hotel or the next hotel so you can give it to a taxi driver.

Italy and Greece are relatively laid back countries who are on good terms with North America.  There are American/Canadian/English consulates in those countries who YOU CAN GO TO in case of EMERGENCY should you run out of money, lose your passport or involved with a crime as well as the local police.  Sometimes the men can be aggressive though.  Learn to smile and say "no thanks. Ciao!"

Remember, if the plane crashes, you'll die instantly-hopefully without pain and you won't be alone.

This is a fantastic opportunity for you.  Enjoy it.

  5. Most people in Greece speak English, I don't think you'll have any problems!

  6. Relax! Enjoy your vacation in two friendly meditterannean countries! and don't worry about the language! Almost every Greek knows at least English!

  7. Relax! Holidays are about RELAXING. The airport staff are good, well better than they once werre. As for a "weapon" i.e, a nail file etc... they will just take it off you, and leave it at that. As for terrirists, we had a local group, that NEVER made blind attacks, but sadly they are behind bars now.

Almost everyone speaks at least a bit of English, so no problems there.

Pack your own suitcase, don't carry anyones luggage except your own, you'll be fine.

The the plugs are different, get an adaptor.

  8. Relax! You will have wonderful holidays! Millions of people do that every day and they don't get kicked out of the airport, and they also only speak english, but they enjoy themselves. Focus on the wonderful places you are about to see.

Now, about security: all you need to do is to put whatever liquid you are carrying (shampoo, etc) in your suitcase. Also everything pointy, like scisors, knives, etc. You can only have very little bottles in your carry on luggage (like your nail polish), that you carry separate for inspection. That's all!

As for the language, in Greece most people speak English. In Italy not so much, but all the millions of tourists get by somehow, don't they?

Now, the only thing you need to worry about is 1. sun protection (sun lotion, hat, sunglasses) and 2. beware of pickpockets in places with many tourists in Italy.

  9. It's one thing to be scared about flying and airport security, it's another thing to be scared of visiting a foreign country.

As far as the travelling goes, check on the Internet with your airline's website and/or the airport that you're flying from (or other airports if there is a transfer) what the allowances are. Typically there must be only one bag for hand luggage. In your hand luggage you must have no sharp objects eg nail scissors.

Visiting Italy and Greece should be a pleasure. If you've never been outside your country expect to find some things that are very new and different (and not necessarily bad because they are different). Also be aware that for everything that seems strange to you, you seem strange to the local people. You are a guest in their country, try not to make them feel uncomfortable having you there.

I'm sure you will have a wonderful time, I've visited both those countries and would love to return. Keep your eyes open and your mouth closed. Leave only footprints and take only photographs, and (happy) memories!

    Have a good holiday!!

  10. Wdf? Its not the Middle East you're visiting! Greece & Italy are laid back safe countries. DONT WORRY nothing will happen!! I've been living in New York for 8 years - the birthplace of 9/11 and NOTHING has happened here either!! So dont worry! Everything will be  F I N E! :)
