  1. Here's a thought.. Can you make the back of the dress a corset style?  I'm sure a seamstress could do it, depending on how tight it is, and still make it look good.

congrats to you to getting so close to your pre-baby weight!

  2. they can try to take the seems out a little bit. just ask the bridal shop.

  3. drink lots of water every day and walk at least 20 min every day.

  4. Have you tried it with a different bra or a corset underneath? Is it a zipper or lace-up back?

Talk to a seamstress and maybe she can do a quick patch for you and it might not be as hard as it sounds.

    Good luck.

  5. I read in a bridal book once that, to save a couple of extra cm on a dress, dont wear underwear - it sounds bizarre, but for that extra little bit of space, you will be able to breathe and your chest should be well supported because it is so tight! And bras tend to be quite bulky anyway, so you may be able to live without it :)

Your other option would be to try and lose weight before the wedding - you still have about a month, so that would be loads of time!! How old is your child? Breastfeeding tends to flatten out your b*****s, this could help if he/she is still of that age. Good luck, I am sure it will be fine!

  6. Does anyone get married before they have kids anymore?

  7. you can start running, it is good exorcise, and helps lose wieght, i dont know about alterations, but i would suggest trying to lose the weight, rather than alter, that way you will look gorgeous on your wedding day!

  8. Go to a salon and get a full body wrap the day before your wedding...this will help shrink you enough to fit into your dress!

this site has some info...hope this helps!

  9. yes you can take it to a seamstress and they should be able to alter it for you

  10. If it's just a little tight, a shaper and drinking plenty of water everyday should do it, however do find a seamstress, I had to get mine altered the week of my wedding, I almost gave up on it and bought a white suit, but my hubby to be wanted me to wear the dress I bought.

  11. If it hasn't been altered yet, then there may be some leeway in there. Wedding dresses usually have about 2-4 inches of give in the seams, depending on the manufacturer. Check for yourself: feel over the side seams, have about an inch or two on either side. If ur unsure, take it to a seamstress. I recommend a seamstress, since since she will more than likely charge you less than what a bridal salon or a dry cleaner (I DO NOT RECOMMEND YOU TAKE IT TO A DRY CLEANER!!)  So, start looking for that seamstress now so she'll have enough time to work on the dress.  =)

    Congrats and best wishes!

  12. i say try to lose some weight.  youve got over 5 weeks, you can do it!  if its only tight and u can still close is, tehn you clearly dont have too much weight to lose at all.  go that route

  13. I had to have mine altered so I could breathe (it would zip, but barely). The seamstress at the wedding boutique was amazing! I had a very traditional gown of heavy bridal satin, long sleeved. She was able to put long vee-shaped inserts under each arm just to give those extra inches - and you could not tell that they were there, it was so invisibly done.

Don't know the style of your dress, but definitely go talk to an experienced wedding dress seamstress to see what's possible.

The cost of my alterations was under 100 as well.

  14. depends on the dress and the style. I have a similar problem, I have a small waist and a big bust and I couldnt really get the dress sized down enough if I bought it to fit my waist, but fortunatly it took minor alterations to fix the top. Take it to one of them.

  15. that is very expensive, as it is difficult to do.  try it on with spanx and a good bra.
