HELP! new blackberry pearl?

but i know you can like access the e-mail and all that

does it cost extra

i dont think i added anything extra on my plan

without changing my normal plan, what extras can i use on it?

In order to access push e-mail and BlackBerry Internet browsing you will have to have a BlackBerry data plan. Without the plan, you will only be able to make calls and text message. I believe if you add AT&T's MediaNet plan you will then also get picture messaging.

In order to take full advantage of the BlackBerry you will want to get the BlackBerry data plan, though.

It really depends on who your service provider is. I know that through Verizon, I was required to switch from my basic plan to a Blackberry plan, so that I could have internet, email and messaging on my phone. I could have gotten other plans, too, such as the email only plan or the messaging only plan, or the one that has neither.

So to answer your question, yes, it does cost extra to have email and all the other things that are so great about having a Blackberry. But really, why buy the phone if you can't take advantage of them?
