  1. I take it you are skiing on the slopes and not the water.  You will be fitted for special boots that the skis attach to.

  2. When you arrive at an area register for a set of lessons and include rental of an equipment package of skiis and boots, poles may not be used the first couple of days. Your ski boots should fit very tight around your foot and ankle.  The inner boot is a sponge material and it will compress as the day continues. Ask one of the rental shop attendants to assist you the first time in your boots, your heel should be back as far as possible, then your toes should just reach the end of the boot. This is the loosest the boot should fit.  Get to the rental shop early and avoid the rush so you can get the boots fit TIGHT.  Your ski set should be stiff enough to support you, a big man needs a stiffer ski, a beginner should use a 150-160cm ski if of average size.

Some areas offer a 3 day beginner package to introduce a new person to the sport.

All that goes in your ski boots is your foot and the sock, no jeans cuffs or ski pants. The ski boot is the critical piece of equipment, if it is too big, your movements do not transmit to the skiis.

If you wear a size 11 mens shoe, ask for a size 10 ski boot, they are sized in UK sizes 28 (2+8=10)

the boot is numbered differently from US boots and shoes.

  3. You don't wear shoes.  You wear ski boots that fit into the bindings on the ski.

Just go and have a ball!

  4. ski boots

you can rent them with skis

cant wear normal shoes they don't fit into the bindings

the things that hold you onto the ski

  5. As has been said, you wear ski boots.  You won't wear shoes in the boots, but most people opt for ski socks, which are just higher, thicker socks to keep their feet warm. The boots are calibrated to the bindings on the skis so that you can snap right in and the bindings are the right size.

  6. lmao.

no, you wear ski boots. usually if your renting skies. there's boots to rent too.

  7. nahh dont worry wen u  hire the skis you will hire boots as well that fit into the skis

they are a bit uncomfy to walk i but should be no problem when skiin

you will have LOOADS of fun its wikedd :D

  8. if you are renting your skiis, the BOOTS you wear normally come with them.
