ok... im sure i didnt make this up, but isnt there a scottish island, that blossoms one day every year? and apparently its really beautiful? does anyone know the name of this islands and whether it exists?

Not a language question, and islands don´t blossom.  Islands are places, and flowers blossom.

Could you be thinking of Brigadoon?  the place in the Highlands which is (fictional, btw) featured in the musical and movie of the same name, and comes to life for one day every century?

I don't know of any island in Scotland that blossoms only once a year, but what you're asking reminded me of the story of Brigadoon-which is about a Scottish village that appears only once every 100 years.  Maybe that is part of what you're thinking of?
