HELP!!! please explain this contact lens prescription for me.easy 10 points

Question

ok i need toric contact lenses and this is the prescription my doctor gave me:

R -3.50 -0.50 x 90

L -3.75 -0.75 x 90

8.8 BC

Now, he said my astigmatism is not so bad and that i could even wear normal spherical lenses. So what is my normal spherical lens power according to this prescription, so i can buy some lenses online?

The -0.50 and -0.75 represent your astigmatism.  This is a small amount and contact lenses for astigmatism (toric) only begin at -0.75.  I am a little confused though.  Before you can order lenses online, you should be fitted by the doctor to decide which prescription works best for you - the spherical or the toric.  But I don't understand how you already have a base curve (8.8) if you have not been fit in the lenses.  After the fit, you should know exactly which brand/power to order.
