how can i convince my mom to let me get a beardie? ( i have asked her before and she said maybe and now when i ask her she says no) i already have a yellow bellied slider and plan on getting another water turtle either another ybs or a res (yes i know that means getting a bigger tank) and then i can put the beardie in the 40 breeder that my turtle is in now.... (after of course i clean it and put the right stuff in there) so thanks!

If you have the money to pay for it all yourself, then you must just respect her decision and wait it out. For most parents using your own money and having proved you are responsible will be enough, for those who it isn't - don't expect her to change her mind anytime soon.

Your mother is letting you live in her house and having pets is a huge privilege. She's already let you have an animal and now your asking for one she doesn't like to move into HER house.

Respect your mother's answer and wait until you are on your own to get one or at least don't ask again until you have the money(earn it yourself) to completely cover the lizard, tank, tank accessories and more.

Sit down and talk with her. Begging is the last thing you should do. Show her you are responsible in every way possible and do tons, and I mean hours of research on beardies. They are very complex creatures that require Ultraviolet light along with a heat source of 100-105 degrees (F) and they need a varied diet with vegetables and insects. Impress her with your knowledge and she will see how committed you are.
