!HELP! suffering with pantry bugs and fruit flies?

Question

can anyone please help me. i am so sick of coming into the kitchen and bugs flying in my face. my kitchen has had a serious bug problem for years. i try to put things back int he refrigerator.. but the bugs keep coming..the problem is getting so bad that i can't even eat anything unless it has been frozen first.. otherwise it will have millions of bugs living in it. my mother doesn't live with me and refuses an exterminator until i leave to college. (ridiculous). I have set those pheromone traps everywhere and yet the bugs are still flying. my brother tends to leave food around a bit.. and when he forgets to put something away.. trillions of fruit flies will gather on it. it is making me sick.. and driving me mad. I can't kill anymore bugs. i just can't.

any suggestions for fighting the flying pantry bugs and fruit flies would be SO greatly appreciated.

The above advice is great but you don't really say what variety of bugs you have so it's hard to give really good advice.

A friend of mine said bay leaves will keep bugs out of a pantry.

Your brother needs to be cleaner.  Do you have roaches?

Bug bombs work but don't blow up the place.  

Why is your mom responsible for paying for an exterminator?  You do know in order for them to work, you have to totally empty your kitchen cabinets, then everything must be cleaned, washed, and put back into shelving that has been cleaned.

You need to find where they are laying their eggs and kill that - I would take EVERYTHING out of your pantry and inspect it to make sure something in there hasn't become a new home for the bugs, and clean your pantry really well. I would also clean under and behind your fridge, every inch of your trash can, your garbage disposal, everywhere under your sink, basically every square inch of your kitchen that you can think of.  Oh and keep your windows shut in the kitchen.  I've gotten fruit flies from leaving my windows open.

If that doesn't work...I dont know!
