Me and my friend really want to help the homeless by donating money and making people aware that so many people do not have homes. We want to join an organization over the internet, that will allow us to do our donations over the internet. The only problem is that we can not find a good website that will allow us to do that. Please help us!

  1. Here is a good place to donate on-line and they have helped millions of people.

  2. Check out www.homesforthehomeless.com   This is one of the very best organizations helping homeless people especially homeless kids and educating the public about homelessness.   I got to know about them when I was a homless student's advocate for a GA school system and even tho they are in NYC they were always willing to share info and encouragement.    This group makes a lasting difference for homeless kids and their families as opposed to just providing a place to crash and eat for a few days or weeks as much as that emergency help is needed too.     Fair warning though you'll probably cry reading the stories of some of the kids in the HfH shelters.

Your local school system almost undoubtedly has a homeless student's liasion who can tell you places in your own community to help homeless people both kids and adults..   Your local United Way and Salvation Army can probably give you similar info,.

One fact you may or may not know is that according to the Institute on Children and Poverty and The National Association for the Education of Homeless Children and Youth the average holesless Americvan is a 7 yr old child,. That means half the homeless ppl in America are kids under 7.

  3. There is probably a homeless shelter or soup kitchen or meals facility in your area.  Get some of your friends together to prepare a meal for these people.  Contact the organization, and ask them their procedures.  You might get a group together to pick up supermarket donations once a week and deliver the goods to the homeless shelter, or....?

Some things are more loving, helpful and useful than money!

  4. get in touch with the st. vincent de paul association, they have been round since the french revolution
