  1. Try going back further than the telephone - the telegraph.

Then go forward to the computer that you're typing this question on, and think of instant messaging, email, etc., which all uses electricity.

As a side note, think about how ships communicate with the shores at night - lighthouses - or with each other without broadcasting - flashing signal beams.

In between all that, there's the television, which can be broadcast far and wide with live visual feeds now.

Take another trip to an area that uses electricity but isn't visual - Tape recorders, CD's, radios, satellite radio. All use electricity.

Hopefully this will give you something to go on, and you can dig into it from there. Good luck!

  2. no we have acess tothe computer, so we can chat via im and email, and we have text messaging phones, and cars use some electricity to drive places so that helps us get mail to other places

  3. now we can accomplish things at any time, day or night, now with electricity and the light bulb we can stay up all night and stilll be able to see.  life does not stop when the sun goes down.

  4. welll.

people used to just send letters.

obviously with internet tv and radio there is much less of that.

personally, if i need to tell a friend something important i get on the internet.  i dont even really use a phone any more.

but people hardly send letters anymore. all the mail we usually get is taxes, or from companies.

letters take a while to send.  and if there was no other way to communicate information long distances, information would spread like a game of telephone.  getting jumbled along the way. tv and radio has changed that.
