Okay so I just got stung by something on one of my pinky nuckles, I don't know if it was a bee or wasp, shook it off and then it started hurting. At first it felt like just a sting, but now all my the tips of my fingers are ice cold, they feel like they're burning up, my entire arm up to my shoulder is aching, and the sting itself is swollen. Also now it feels like a reoccuring sting. The skin there is rock hard too.

  1. u might be having an allergic reaction to the sting. u should probably get it checked out

  2. sounds like a yellow jacket. Bees leave a stinger although the effect they have on the body is similar.  Ice, over the counter pain meds are usually all that's needed and be sure to wash the area with soap and water. You can expect your symptoms to last a few hours and then go away. Local redness, heat are also some of the typical responses but if you should see a spreading redness, a line that travels up your arm - all signs of an infection that sometimes occurs following an insect sting/bite - see your health care provider. Also, should you develop a raised rash, itching all over your body, tightening of your throat, some of the symptoms of an allergic reaction - you should seek medical attention immediately.  The good thing is the life threatening reactions usually occur within minutes but regardless get checked if you're not sure.

There are over the counter sting products available that you could also use.
