  1. i think your best bet would be to look around your area for different dance studios and see if they offer breaking classes. a lot of studios where i am from are starting to bring in break classes to bring more variety to their studios, so looking around your area for the different studios would be a good start...

if you are willing to travel to some places, i know that the EDGE performing arts center in LA offers beginner break and hip hop classes amongst others...although they might be for the teen-adult ages. you can check out the website at:

    www.edgepac.com

  2. Bboy classes are not that common, but you could try some bboy websites to find crews and dancers in your area (Bboyworld style2ouf bboy.com etc..)

What is critical in learning to Bboy, is surrounding yourself with others who also strive to learn the same thing. If you can find this, for instance some friends who you know would like to, then by al means. The thing is, Bboying is an intense, and testing dance/expression, and to excel you need huge commitment, the physical nature is often derived from martial arts, and gymnastics, while many styles of more traditional dance are also incorperated. Having a skilled dancer to help you learn is important to make it less difficult, and prevent serious injury. To start, i would suggest, getting some good dancing shoes, cross trainers or basketball shoes, as tennis shoes may have less lateral stability. Then find a studio, basement or other place with a smooth floor if possible. You will need music, and here is a link to IMEEM where you can find some:

Youtube is a great help to many Bboys as you can see the culture and much of the new flavour on the web, as before youtube, it was much more underground and hard to find. I suggest watching Bboys on youtube lots. You will not only learn moves, but will see the culture of Hip-Hop, and how Bboying fits in to it all.
