HELP with HP laptop dock?

OK, so I went to the Fair and entered a drawing for a laptop dock, they didnt say which one, I won, I got it is Sitting in front of me, but its a HP and I have a Gateway laptop. It also came with a wireless keyboard and mouse but thoughs connect through a usb wireless hub for that which works, can I connect a dual usb cable from the Dock usb hub to my laptop while the dock is powered on making it a hub? If i can't i am just going to sell it on eBay but I would rather use it for something.:)

Difficult to know without seeing it or knowing the HP Model/Part Number, but if it has a special plug or socket for an HP it probably won't work on another brand.

If you want to try and sell it, find out which HP models it is made for.
