HELP with my ebay/paypal refund plzz?

i brought something off ebay.it was faulty so i told the seller. he took the money direct from my paypal and i had the item within 2 days, the man says hes gonna give me a refund but will it be instant like the way he took my money or will it be stuck in paypal for 10 days? im new to this and not sure how it works
