  1. I have breed my hammies and they had 2 litters so i ended up with 12 hammies total... i loved breading them its a GREAT experience! No she's not pregnant! she will get fat and fell lumpy make sure the mom and babies to be separated from the dad, or the dad will eat the babies... don't touch them until they have a full set of hair or the mom wont take them... its amazing to watch the birth!!! if your very curious to c them RIGHT after birth scoop them up with a PLASTIC spoon!!  have fun! oh and hamsters can get pregnant RIGHT after giving birth so when the babies can be on there own... don't put her back with the male unless u want her to be pregnant again...trust me im a junior hamster expert! also very important split the s*x after the babies r about a month old  cause they can get pregnant!!! GOOD LUCK!

  2. There is a good chance she is pregnent.

If she does have pups Remove the male hamster and put him in another cage. And i repeat do not touch her Pups or she will kill them. Just leave her and her pups alone.

  3. i would take her to a vet you can never be sure . but she is probably pregnant so i would get them separate cages so that the mom wont get too stressed out.

  4. Considering that she was mating with a male hamster, in all probability, she might be pregnant. It is very difficult to tell if a hamster is pregnant. Some clues include when she may be building a bigger nest, hoarding a lot of food in the nest, will eat and drink water more than usual and sleep a lot more if she is pregnant. In the last 4 days before delivery, she will look big in the belly and teats would be prominent. The gestation period is 18-21 days. If you want to take her to a vet, you can do that for a confirmation. When my hammy was pregnant, she had big fights with my male dwarf who was in the same cage and I had to separate them so that she had the cage to herself.

Make sure you give her lots of clean food and water and supplement her protein intake by giving her hard boiled egg whites and little quantities of skimmed milk. Also supplement her regular food with pieces of fresh vegetables like carrots. Throw away any stale food after a day. Try to put the cage in an area where she has the least disturbance from noises and activities.

Clean out her nest 2 days before her delivery and put in lots of fresh bedding (only aspen shavings, no pine or cedar and no scented shavings please) and also lots of unbleached / untreated toilet paper for her to make her nest. Put lots of food in the cage. After that leave the cage undisturbed for 2 weeks (except to change the food and water) after the babies are born since any disturbance can irritate the mother and cause her to hurt her babies. Remember never to touch the babies for two weeks from the day they are born.
