She stole most of the big dollars to do laundry she said (im 13) I had recently began to make money for myself and i put it away to save for college and another half to aid my athletic career.Well she stole the college fund and stole most of it (about 5 bucks like i said i just recently begun it i had about 30 bucks but most was in change just in case someone looked at it and decided it wasn't worth cashing in) so she took most the quarters and dollars that she could see off hand (some were hidden) This morning when i asked her where she got those quarters from she lied to me and said she got them of my grandads dresser. But later that day i was adding another 15 bucks to my savings and i found that the bigger quantity things like dollars and quarters here gone i knew she took them. She says she aint paying me 5dollars back only 1.75 and that i better not yell at her about it anymore. She has stolen from me before and never paid back ive had enough i will sue next time.Is this wrong?

  1. I would suggest putting your money in something that you can put a lock on. She won't steal your money anymore if it's locked away. I understand you're upset, but she's stealing money from her own daughter, which means she must really need it. It's embarrassing to admit that you have stolen money from your own child, so just leave her alone and lock your money away so it won't happen again.

  2. well, you are 13 and that 30 dollars that you have, isnt enough to hire a lawyer. u need clean clothes BTW. however, she should have asked first. just hide it somewhere she will never look.

  3. Start a bank account sweetie. That way, your mom can't touch it. She's way out of line.

  4. Yes it's wrong for your mom to take money. Hide your money better next time. She may be your mom but you're being responsible and saving up for college. If your mom needed money from you she should have just asked, and then payed you back.

  5. put it in the bank under your grandads name  and then she cant touch it simple as that

  6. mum always asks me for like 5 bucks or something, never steals from me. but just in case what i did was, one day when my parents where out, i took down this one poster ive had up for ages, and i cut out like a square in the wall but on only 3 sides. the uncut side acts like a hinge so its like a door to the inside of the wall. i hallowed it out and stash my money in there. i put back the poster and its been like that for a year and no one is the wiser.

  7. I can't believe that your mom would do that!! But maybe she was really desperate for some change... I'm sure she wouldn't take your hard-earned money unless she really needed it for something important.

She can't steal your money unless she knows where your money is kept. Find a new place to store your money.

To answer your main question, I don't think it's wrong because she used the money for laundry, not to rent movies or anything. It's a perfectly legitimate reason. Plus, you're only 13. There's still a few more years for you until college and I'm sure that you'll be able to find more work and earn more money by that time. It's excellent that you are concerned about your future, but don't get stressed out about your mom taking your money right now. I'm hoping she meant well.

  8. awww thats so sad! Just hide it GOOD next time!

  9. Yes, it is wrong.... if she hasn't enough money to do your laundry then you have two choices..... College or clean clothes.

I am all into college if you don't mind stinking.

Being 13, you and your grand dad should run down to a bank and open a pass book savings account for you.  That way only he and you can get to the money.
