Roborovski dwarf hamster:

pros:

small

dont make much noise

do small poo's  and clean

they live for three years when other only live for an advige of 1 1/2 - 2

can live in groups

cons:

small

fast

hard to find if lost

(some are)hard to handle

syrian hamster:

pros:

syrian best for beginners

quite big and not to fast

easy to handle

(most) friendly

lives for 2-3 years

best type for children

easy to tame

cons:

cant live in grounps

nocturnal (can be noisy)

will fught to death if houses with anther :S

need a rat wheel (as it is a big hamster)

ummmm i would say  yhuur best bet is wioth a syrian but deside for yhuur self look on these sites :-D -----:::::

cons:

can be noisy

can bite but most animals do anyway

dont live long

if you are going to get one then get a syrian hamster cause they are easy to train not to bite and not as fast as others!!

obviously clean up isn't very fun. They're relatively easy to take care of. However, some can be mean. Their bites are pretty nasty if they get you good. Make sure you handle it before you buy it. Carefully touch its back, if it shows sign of agression, do not buy it. Also, make sure there are no mites!

personally if you are looking into getting a small pet then consider a gerbil.  they arent nocturnal, they dont smell, they do not bite, their cute, cheap, and you can find them at petstores. gerbils also live longer.

Syrian:

P: low maintenance

P: likes to cuddle

P: will be calm in ur hands

P: is not as fast as a dwarf

P: stores food so u dont have to worry if u forget once in a while

P/C:has a good memory

C: some like a lot of space

C: will chew on plastics

C: requires a lot of bedding &food

C: caging can be expensive

C: they can & will bite

C: they poo and pee a lot

if ur going to get a hamster, i would suggest on a Syrian. dwarfs are too fast!!!
