i just got my winter white hamsters,2 of them,a week ago...the pet shop owner says both are females but...but...i just saw red things and thought it was their food but it was hamster BABIES!!!we,my mum and i suspect she(1 of them only)got pregnant at the pet shop but i am not ready for this,i mean i didn't get ready for this as i just discovered the babies!PLEASE HELP!!!

Okay, first calm down- panicking won't help!

Firstly, assuming they're both female and one of them got pregnant at the shop, you need to find out which one is mum and remove the one who ISN'T mum- and is, at worse, maybe dad if you did accidently get a male. They need to go in a cage on their own.

Secondly, you need to leave mum and babies alone. Don't move the cage but try and keep it in a dark and quiet area where it won't get disturbed a lot. Don't TOUCH the babies, mum, or nest, don't stare at the babies, mum, or the nest, and just generally leave her to it. Provide water and her normal food, plus food high in protein like eggs and a bit of /cooked/ chicken.

For now, that's all you need to do. Seperate the two hamsters, and leave the nest and babies totally alone. You personally don't need to do anything for three-four weeks- just keep feeding her everyday and providing clean water. Then there's more to do once the babies are four weeks- but take it one step at a time.

It doesn't matter if the hamster who isn't the mother is male or female- you need to take it out either way. So please, do so.

If you don't have anywhere to put the other hamster, there's a strong chance the baby hamsters are going to die.

No offense, but get it together- there's no need to shake, jesus christ. Find somewhere to put it.

it got preg at the shop hamsters are preg for longer then 1 week separate the one that isn't the mum and the rest just look up on the internet

Take the one that is not the mother out of the cage as she will probably try to kill the babies. Anyway, hamsters can't live together. They will fight regardless of their gender.

Put lots of nesting material in the cage for the mummy (a toilet roll with lots of paper on it is perfect)

When they are about 6 weeks they can leave their mum. Ask the pet shop if they are willing to take them back.

Good luck, don't panic. They're so cute once they start getting fur and open their eyes :)

If u dont want the babies, u can sell them. In that way, ur problem will be solved, u'll also get money. Or why not give the babies to the petshop, maybe they'll sell it.
