HELP!how do you unfreeze a video ipod?

Question

i was using my brothers ipod today when he wasnt home and it was playing on my ihome then it just stopped playing. its just frozen and has been lit up for the past four hours. help! i need to fix it before he comes home.

btw i already tried pressing the middle button and the play button

and i tried the menu button and the middle

plug it into the computer... if that doesnt work click restore origional settings...

Toggle the hold switch on and off and then hold the Menu button and the select button (center button) at the same time for 6-10 seconds. The apple logo will appear and it will turn off.

My ipod has done this several times when it tries to connect to iTunes. You need to first make sure the hold is off, because otherwise it won't recognize the buttons you press to unfreeze it. Secondly, you can't just pretty the buttons, you need to hold them. Hold down the center button and the top part of the scroll wheel for several seconds. The apple logo will appear after 5-6 seconds, and then you can let go while it reboots itself.

You may also need to attach it to a power source to make sure it has enough power to reboot. If the LED screen has been lit up for the past couple hours like you said, it is probably pretty low on batteries.

you dont just press middle and top, you need to hold it. hold top and middle, and eventually it will be forced to restart

The video iPod uses a hard drive (which doesn't require power to keep information), so you won't likely loose any information is the battery goes dead.  If nothing else works, just wait for the battery to run down.  Then, once it cuts off from a dead battery, plug it back in and it should start back up after charging for a bit.

Its bin on to much it gets hot after a while you used it for 4 ours thats why.
