HELP!!my grandma died and i brought home my parrot?can i just take him to the vet and get new papers?

she died and we did not find the parrots papers i dont even now if hes been to the vet for the past 13 years

can i just take him to the vet and get new papers?

  1. You can take it to the vet. I'm sure the transfer of animals is very common and the papers are not always located. They can sort everything out and get new forms.


  2. Definitely take your parrot to the vet for a check up.  Expect him to get a little sad and miss your grandmother too, after all she was family to him too.  Be sure and ask your vet what signs to watch for and tips to make him feel better.

    Read all you can about your parrot to learn how to feed him properly and to make sure he gets the attention he needs.

    Papers aren't really necessary unless you are planning to breed him.  My parrot is a rescue and didn't come with papers.  It hasn't interfered with us loving him or his loving us back.  

    I am sorry about your grandmother.  I hope you and your parrot both find comfort in each other to cope with both your loss.
