  1. ok calm down don't worry. this can be very easily solved. first off, i'd jsut like to say that guineas really aren't supposed to go in balls. it's not good for them or something... i don't know... but anyway you really should only bathe it if you know how, and next time use johnson's baby shampoo so that if it gets in it's eyes it won't hurt. now how to get it to stop shaking: use a blow dryer. put it on LOW and WARM air. make sure the air isn't too hot and never blow dry it's face. don't hold the blow dryer too close to it's body. once it's totally dry and has stopped shivering put it back in it's cage. it helps if you keep it in a towel for a while and while you blow dry it. you really only need to give them baths once a month. depending how dirty they are. if it just has pee on it just get a warm wet wash cloth and scrub it a little. http://youtube.com/watch?v=EJ7u_zp7BVs an inscructional video on how to bath your guinea pigs. hope that helps :)

  2. It's fine for a guinea pig to try to jump out of the bath she was probably scared. You are supposed to use baby shampoo or guinea pig shampoo. guinea pigs will shake and make grunting noises. Don't give your guinea pig another bath for 3 months if you do it too much she could get a cold and die. if you never give her a bath and you give her a bath every 5 months then she could get skin cancer and die.

  3. Ok, calm down.......It could be etheir:

A cold take her to the vet. (NEVER GIVE GUNIEA PIGS BATHS!! IF SHE PEED ON HERSELF YOU SHOULD HAVE PUT WATER ON HER WITH A WET CLOTH.)

She is shocked and scared, leave her alone.

She is just cold, leave her, she will be fine.

Fright.  Talk to her, calm her.

Swallowed water...take her to the vet, could get respatory disease.

Guinea pigs are very fragile animals, and should never have bathes, they could get a cold or devlope respitory infections, or they alos can die from fright.

  4. I doubt that any permanent damage was done.

Generally, guinea pigs don't require baths, but giving them one isn't fatal.  Experts recommend a shallow bath, with warm water and special shampoo(only to avoid drying it's skin).  Be sure to rinse and then dry thoroughly to avoid chills.

I'm sure she is reacting this way as she has never experienced a bath before- and may never need to again 8).

Make sure she is dry and give her her space.  She will likely be fine.

  5. You need to throw the ball away. They are dangerous. Most of the items the pet store will sell you are bad news.

It sounds like she is ill.

Take her to a vet http://www.guinealynx.info/healthycavy.h...

  6. She's fine! My Guinea Pigs do the same thing. Just make sure that you dry her off and put her somewhere warm.

  7. ok

1.buy some gp shampoo 4 it

2.make sure the water it warm

3.afterwards put it in a box with a warm water bottle in it and towels

4.only wash it if its not been washed in 2 months or if its got bugs on it (lice etc.)

    5. take it to the vet asap!

  8. she will be ok, she is probably freezing though, it is OK to give your guinea pig a bath just make sure if you want to do something like that to read up on it be for  you try it.^_^

  9. you should of used Johnsons Baby shampoo and just cleaned the guinea pig with a wet towel and give it a bath if it has skin mites. i suggest u get a vet Dr as soon

  10. Why was she in a ball in the first place? Balls and wheels are NOT for guinea pigs. They do not have the proper flexibility of the spine to safely run in these things. You could seriously injure your pig by putting her in a ball.

  11. First calm down! All you have to do is do the bath again with warm water but only enough water to go half way up her body. Then instead of people shampoo try using guinea pig shampoo. As soon as it's finish warp a towel around it and dry your guinea pig then drain the water. But make sure your guinea pig is totally dry before you take your guinea pig out of the towel. After that your guinea pig should be ok.

  12. bath her in warm not hot water. there is nothing u can really do about the wanting to get out of the tub. get rodent shampoo. and dry her of and hold her in a towel before letting her go if u dont she will get sick

  13. well number 1 guineas cant go into balls. it can and usully does cause them to have back problems. so throw that ball away! never use it again!

and number 2 u should never use people shampoo on theese little guys! they need a shampoo thats more mild, like kitten or baby shampoo. i hope the shampoo wont give the piggy a rash!

well shes probably shaking because shes so cold! gps need to be dried imediatley after being bathed! so get a towel and a hairdryer and start to dry her! (make sure the hairdryer isnt too hot also dont have it too close to the gps skin!)

well here is a link with guinea piggy noises. try to find which one ur piggy made. then read what it means. http://www.jackiesguineapiggies.com/guin...

    well i hope this helps!

    guinea pigs rock!

    good luck with ur piggie!

  14. You can give a guinea pig a bath, but only with small rabbit or kitten shampoo!

Throw away the ball, it is harmful to their backs

  15. She's fine, she's just cold and probably a bit scared.Keep her wrapped up in a towel or two untill she's completely dry and stops shivering.

Human shampoo is a little harsh but most won't usually cause a skin reaction.Just make sure you rinsed her well and there is no more shampoo on her fur.Next time try puppy shampoo or ferret shampoo (some say ferret shampoo is harsh but I've never had a problem).

Also the guinea pig ball is pretty bad for their backs.

  16. She's fine.  Just dry her off and put her into a warm place.

  17. Baths can stress gunea pigs a bit (especially of they are young) but they will get over it.

You should have used warm water not cool water.  She could be cold.  She needs to be rinsed and dried thoroughly and then if she feels cold then put her on a wrapped up hot water bottle or something.

You shouldn't have used human shampoo.  It may hurt her skin and if it got in her mouth or nose it could make her sick.  You need to use small animal shampoo or baby shampoo.

  18. No, no, no.  You never ever give a guinea pig a bath.  They clean themselves like cats do.  They don't need baths.  If she pees on herself just wipe her off with a baby wipe.  Guinea pigs go into shock very easily.  You never want to stress them out.  Just dry her off and put her in her cage to let her calm down.  Hopefully she will be okay.  No more baths for her.

  19. A month after my four baby guniea pigs were born we gave them a bath with just semi-warm water, they shivered for a while but they loved it! I wouldn't be too worried about it her, she might just be shocked or she may have caught a cold. if you are concurned that much take her to the vet to make sure she is okay! ^.^
