HElP!About homeschooling groups?

My friend in Florida wants to get homeschooling, so my question is if you join a homeschooling group or make one does that count as a private school.

Homeschool groups are not the actual schools. They are usually more like organizations for support, activities, and group classes that you can put towards your homeschooling. The "school" so to speak is the individual homeschooling family, but in Florida it doesn't count as a private school. It's just homeschool. You can however register with a private school or online school that will regulate your homeschooling, and you just work at home... I personally think this defeats the purpose though.

Depends on the state, actually. HSLDA is an excellent group that may be able to help with that.  They are christian based, if that matters.
