I live in the midwest and as most of you know we have recieved gargantuan amounts of rain this year. I'm moving and need to keep my yard nice. While mowing recently in the taller grass my mower started making a louder metal on metal sounding clank. It is very rythmic and when I mow over larger grass it slows the engine down and with it the rythmic clanking. My mower is a craftsman from Sears. My blade is not bent nor is it tapping anything. So it is deffinently internal. I think maybe exhaust or something with the engine itself. I am worried that it might be something like throwing a rod in a car. My question is to all of you is...If you had to diagnose this problem where would you start? Where in the mower do you think the sound could be coming from? Point me in the right direction. I'm broke and need to fix it myself. I'm an ok do it yourselfer and I just need a push in the right direction. Please help. Geoffrey
