HHO technology question.?

As a standard, HHO (by my research) has been shown to double MPG of almost any vehicle. How does the hotter burning hydrogen particles achieve better MPG? Is that not limited by the car's computer running the fuel/air mixture, and if not, can the Hydrogen throw off the mixture because of the concentration of hydrogen in the fuel when it combusts?

  1. Your research must be a scam. At best result inputting small amounts of hydrogen and oxygen into the air intake will increase fuel efficiency by as much as 40% in a minority of cases. Usually it is only a little more than 10%.

To double the MPG of any vehicle would require a large pre-filled tank of hydrogen and oxygen to supplement what is in the gas tank. The load of converting water to hydrogen is too much for more than a modest improvement.

All that said the technique does work. If you insert small amounts of hydrogen and oxygen the percentage of burnable material in the chamber increases resulting in a more efficient explosion.

A legit product to accomplish this costs too much unless you are driving a few thousand miles a month. I've included a legit company so you can see what works.

  2. The addition of Hydrogen Fuel to the air/fuel mix extends the flammability limit of gasoline. Air/fuel ratios of 30:1 can be achieved, which will decrease combustion temperature effectively mitigating NOx production. Relatively high air/fuel ratio results is gas mileage improvement in exchange for performance with proper ECU modification.

  3. If the leaning out doesn't fry out your sleaves the H2o produced in the engine will rust them MPG aside if you can even get an electrolyzer to produce enough hho to make a diference on your fuel economy w/o exploding your battery or alternator your just going to wreck your engine

  4. If it doubles MPG, why don't the automakers install them?

Try thinking real hard, and then you'll be less apt to fall for scams.

  5. HHO is a scam in reference to a self containted, moving vehicle.  It takes more energy to create the gases than you get from burning them.  One of three things happen if you try to install a self contained HHO system in your car.

    1)  Your gas mileage will actually go down.  This is the best case senario.

    2)  The extra load on your alternator will cause it to burn up, and possibly catch fire.  This will, at least, cost you a new alternator.

    3)  The drain on the battery that the alternator cannot keep up with will cause your battery to either die, or possibly explode.  Since a moving vehicle will vent the gasses coming off the battery, it will probably just die.

In any case, the hotter combustion process will burn your valves, scorch your oil, and otherwise do bad things to your engine that was not designed to burn Hydrogen.  Usually your computer will react to the hotter mixture by dumping more gas into the cylinder to cool it off, which will cause the mixture to run rich and your mileage to go down.  Net result is no gain.
