Rather than but books about her methods, buy a book that she wrote.

Montessori is a combination of both a philosophy and a classroom practice.  The basis of Montessori's success is largely due to an uninterrupted 2 1/2-3 hour work cycle.  Without that, it may be difficult to achieve results you are looking for.

That said, you can add things to your classroom and get some level of success with them.  I would start with this book:

It is a book about homeschooling using the Montessori method.  I've looked through it and it is very well done and gives a lot of ideas on how to set up different things in the classroom.

It has many practical life activities which can be incorporated.

I would also suggest becoming familiar with the philosophy, since that is key.  You can start by looking at the my blog (look at the reference page).

The best book to read to get a holistic overview of her philosophy and methods is "Montessori: A Modern Approach" by Paula Polk Lillard. It's much easier to read than a lot of Montessori's own works (VERY hard going!).

This is the best one for getting the general idea, but if you look up the author on Amazon, you will see a lot more of her books that you may want to invest in if you find this one helpful.
