  1. Take classes

    Take workshops

Take it as your elective in school

    Do Community Theatre/school play

Buy monologue books (or go online) and practice and perform them in front of a mirror

Read out loud (helps with cold readings and articulation)

See lots of plays and take (mental) notes on how actors portray themselves.

    Buy books about acting

    do improve games with friends

Its great that you want to improve, keep trying and break a leg =]

  2. I dislike the word Practice in the sense of theater, but essentially it describes one way to improve.

You truly don't need scripts, per-say, even more reading will help. You might assume you are one of the characters written about, even taking on what role you think They fit, and how you might fit them.

I want to assume that even in CHESTER there might be some levels of performance theater opportunities, perhaps even in a school situation. Certainly too there must be a Library, and/or TV.

Being Discovered,,,Hmmm. That might not happen for you even in New York or Hollywood, but getting experience can happen anywhere. The notion should be that what you're interested in is a PASSION, and anything you can engage in, in your passion, is a good thing.

Finally and with all due respect, all the reading in the world, will not strictly improve your skills, or ability to ACT or interact with others on stage. You need to be DOING IT.
