HI how do i clean brass witout buying brands. please?

om a tight budget .. ive bought a lovely brass lamp that needs brassing up.. ive bought it second hand...and the base is very dull...

please can anybody help..

sour milk

put lemon juice or vinegar in the milk to sour it,

or if you can wait just leave some out to spoil

then wipe over the brass, just be sure and rinse

THAT'S what Kim and Aggie used on one episode I saw

Ketchup contains acetic acid (Vinegar!) so it's the same as lemon juice.

If the lamp is really badly oxidised and has black patches us a brillo pad to scrub it first then polish it dry

Metal polish not all that dear.    Or got an old soft red brick?   The dust from that  , on a cloth  will clean the brass.

tomato ketchup not lemon juice lemon juice is a acid it will attack the metal too much and in end ruin it.

i spoon bi-carb 1 spoon lemon juice 1 spoon vinegar

mix together to a paste then with a clean damp cloth rub it in then after a few minutes with another clean damp cloth wipe it off leave to dry and buff.
