  1. rains every day! its november now and its going to be really cold so bring loads of warm jackets and a good umbrella! the minimum wage is something like €7.65 but you only start earning this after you've had the job for a certain period of time. there are always tons of people looking to hire students. suppose it depends whereabouts you're going but in cities and most towns there's plenty of employment opportunities. check out the local papers, there will be a job section. it helps if you have experience or some qualifications. try your luck by walking around town there's usually a few 'staff wanted' signs in the windows of a few shops or restaurants. hope this helps-enjoy yourself when you come here! :D

  2. every one is right

  3. what Garnetgirl means by really cold is that it gets down to single digit degrees C (circa 40F) in the winter, we rarely go below freezing and snow is a (fun) rarity. The weather is temperate meaning that it rarely goes much outside a 3-22 degree C range throughout the year although the ever present but variable wind can affect the mood a lot. The secret is layers as it can be many things with a day (or even within a few minutes - look it's sun, no hailstones, oops rain, ah sun, yippee snow, bah rain, yay sun, ouch wind, ah feck it lat's just go to the pub and get out of this weird weather.....

As for jobs there is very low unemployment (around the 3-4% mark so in economist terms "full employment") and lots of casual jobs in the service sector, grab the Evening Herald newspaper and look round for signs in windows. Wages are low (below €10 an hour) but jobs plentiful. Agiain your answer here may well be in the Pub ;-)

  4. It depends on where you are going to live,  Try to stay in dublin and you will have no problem with a job.   go to the dublin univ main gate any friday at eight pm for the university pub crawl and you will meet lots of people with tons of resources. and its a great time... i just got back a month ago

    good luck

  5. Irish weather is typically very varied, we often have the 4 seasons in one day it seems!! Today was sunny and dry, but crispy cold this evening. There are plenty of jobs, easy to pick one up. Just walk in to most shops and restaurants and ask, especially now, coming up to christmas , most looking for extra staff.
