We are the guys working in national AIDS control programme of govt. of india from past many years, some from more than seven and a half years. We all are post-graduates in psychology or social work, the salary per month we are getting is very very less.

Govt. dont consider us as our employees, work-load, client-load, administrative work, job expectation is rising by every passing day, there are only one counsellor in big hospital such as ram manohar lohia or aims or L.N.J.P.

we don"t have any complain except our remuneration,

we don"t have any objection for any exam by govt. to test our skills and knowledge.

but can somebody please tell them we are facing real financial problems and difficulties in fulfiling needs of our respective families.

when will govt. bother for us ?

can somebody throw some light...

  1. You will have to solve the problems at your own level, as everybody is busy in soving his/her own problems

  2. Hi, I'd say you better change you place of work, but not the profession. By this you will still be doing the same work for much better pay. Forget about the Govt. It has lot of headaches, it will be least bothered for you as long as the body is functioning even with minimum resources. Its best that you find an alternative, and let some other person work who can adjust with what he gets.

  3. Think collective action (e.g. a union) or organizing your client's to raise concerns.

Think subterfuge (bring in your own video camera)

    DA

  4. =fully agreeing that all workers shd live while all positives will be dying for sure, we must note that 99% of funds reach everyone except the positives. 5? millions of them, only  10%= 0.5 millions getting the HAART, 0.001 % getting the benefit of end stage Hospice, 88%  funds going for awareness programs and condoms and male circumcision and female condoms . note also the statistics are not really available. // i am a GP helping with HIV,/stage IV=AIDS/ since 1986 Zambia, now India  HIV drop-in center in AP// Therefore You as a specialist person involved having research of many years behind you, come up with the PRACTICAL solution and present a paper.// I for me, am near to starting a 20 cots shed Hospice, and that seems all i dare to attempt.
