Question:

HIV+? - How to deal with stress while waiting?

Last week I had unprotected vaginal s*x 3 times with a prositute in Jakarta, Indonesia and she later informs me that both her parents and husband are dead from 'sickness'. Here in Victoria, Australia the only HIV test is a blood antibody test and a person must wait a minimum of 6 weeks before being tested as this allows the body enough time to build measurables quantities of antibodies. Is there anything i can do in the meantime to relieve the stress?

  1. I'm not sure how to deal with the stress... watch out for flu like symptoms with fever..that is the first sign of hiv infection.

after that it takes 4 plus years to get any symptoms and after that you'd be put on treatment, which keeps you healthy for many many years.. now they predict it sd 39+ year after starting treatment..and believe me the age prediction is getting higher and higher every few years.

You can't do much while waiting.. I know it's easy to say - don't worry. good thing is that men don't get hiv as easy as women.

Women pretty much get it after having s*x once or few times, but men are harder to be infected because if you don't have any cuts on you p***s, it's kinda hard to get the juices from the woman down your one eyed monster :o) as they say..

    Don't worry... x

  2. there is no point getting all worked up about something that might turn out to be nothing at all.  hiv takes many years before it gets bad and eventually kills and the treatments and research are getting better

  3. Wow id recommend sleeping around with more prostitutes your basically ****** anyways

  4. The best advice is not to stress until you know you have a reason to.  Wait the 6 weeks and have the test, and deal with the diagnosis if there is one.  You don't want to stress for weeks and find there was no reason to.  Take good care of yourself in the meantime.

You could see your doctor for advice for now too.

Good luck, and I hope the test is negative.

  5. If you notice 2-5 weeks after exposure that you have a ..

    1.headaches

2.swollen lymph nodes (esp. neck, armpits and genital areas)

    3.sore throat

    4.tremors

    5.night-sweats

    6.bodily rash

then I'd worry, if not, you most likely didn't catch anything. I'd say do something good to get good karma before you find out your results.
