do anyone know any people who had become architect after being a civil engineer?

what's the way to become an architect after becoming a civil engineer.

is there any course which on taking makes a civil engineer to an architect?

  1. Architect would be a nice transition but you shouldn't get your B.S. you should pursue your doctorate in Architechture (DArch), because you have already taken all the general courses in math and science so the commitment wont be as much.

    I would also recommend looking into getting your second degree in surveying. There is a great need for surveyors in the U.S. and the starting pay is around $100k - $150k USD depending on region. I have a friend who transitioned from Arch to CE to surveying and he doesn't regret it. He makes a lot of money and has a lot of free time as well since he can make his own work schedule.


  2. I know of several civil engineers who also became architects and vice versa. What you can do if you are already a civil engineer, enrol in architecture course. Most if not all your units in structural design, mathematics, strength of materials etc would be credited anyway so you have just a few more subjects to take. But after all of that, you still have to take the board exams to get your license.
