HK, Colt, Springfield Armory 45 cal 1911?

Not sure about that HK, some german company that is said to make a great one. they are all expensive.

I'm assuming you mean 1911A1. I've had both the Colt Gov't. Model and the Springfield Compact (reworked, by myself, of course). The Compact made for an excellent carry gun. HK, meh. I don't care for plastic guns.

(If you handle your weapon right, and maintain it, you won't have "stoppages". Jam is what you put on biscuits.)

If you want dependability go with a revolver.  Not as s**y as a semi hanging cases in the air, but no jams!

They are all good weapons, however Springfield uses the license by Colt to make the 1911 .45, so either one would be good. Personally I prefer a wheel gun, don't like surprise jams

hk, or heckler and koch, is a great company, for the 1911 style, id go hk or colt.
