HL-DT-ST DVD-RAM GSA-H54N 18 X DVD BURNER. problem is when i boot the computer the dvd burner

Question

problem is when i boot the computer the dvd burner drive reads the disk after the carriage opens and closes the next time it does not read the disk. If i go to device manager and enable and disable the dvd burner it works once and the same thing happens it does not read the drive the second time. Any help will be truly appreciated.
