HMRC tax enquiries email address

I spent an hour trawling through the HMRC.gov website trying to find an email address to send a specific enquiry..but could not find one.

dont tell me to phone instead ( I cant ) why do they make life so difficult ?? does anyone have an email address for them..

  1. HMRC is so afraid of viruses that there is no e-mail facility for the general public. If you phone, you only get a call centre. I think your best bet is either snail-mail, or to go in to a local enquiry centre.


  2. above answer sounds about right, if customs related though, not revenue, then you can email enquiries.estn@hmrc.gsi.gov.uk

    like i said though, only for customs, vat and excise issues

  3. HMRC does have e-mail but only for a couple of offices. They will only be able to answer your question if they deal with you though.

    Chapel Wharf office is mnb@inlandrevenue.gov.uk

    Centre 1 is ekcc@inlandrevenue.gov.uk

    If you do not have records at either of the offices, then you will need to call your office.

  4. HMRC do not answer queries by email. You need to phone or write.
