this is? They throw just any woman on the ticket and expect women to throw their issues out the window and vote for a candidate b/c of gender....Can anyone answer honestly and say they would feel comfortable with her as commander in chief? Isn't this the ULTIMATE PANDERING FOR VOTES?

EDIT: I'm a "soccer mom" with a higher education than Palin..serve the local PTO....and can't fathom directing the country in a time of war and economic distress

The Democrats are the ones who nominated a potential first black president and came close to nominating a potential first female president. Hillary Clinton worked hard.

Sarah Palin,yes I admit, she is impressive.She has five kids and has also been a very well-liked Governor of Alaska. She does have 2 years executive experience which is more than Obama's,but fact is she's still inexperienced.

For McCain to think he can buy female votes just by putting an unknown female on the ticket,who is currently under going investigation for corruption (the very thing she tried to fight when she first started out), is insulting to women everywhere. He is under the impression that women don't care about issues and will vote based on gender

As Commander-in-Chief, no way.  If by some miracle McCain/Palin do win, she should at least try and get a political science associates degree or something.  Get a tutor to come in and teach her.

I do . And honestly i havent felt this bad for woman in years . The only thing i can do is as a man is apologize to all you woman out there   but im not that much of a woman hater or user as McCain .  I just hope woman dont give up because of this it was a pleasure seeing you all fighting for womanhood. Education doesn't seem to do you any good, so you should not judge Ms. Palin.  After all, she has many accomplishments in her life and you're the one on here crying about her.  I think she has the right life experience, is an outsider to DC, has executive experience running a government, and has been an effective Alaska administrator.  Before you say anything more--Biden comes from a state with 100,000 more people than Alaska and has one other Senator and a representative and they can't get anything done, or they just won't try.  You probably aren't capable of running your house in an emergency, but thank God some women can and some women can run governments under pressure.  Have you ever heard of Goldie Meir, or Margaret Thatcher?  They both directed their countries during war.

Your question tells me that you are one of the few who see it for what it is. Everyone else is making decisions on who to vote for because of shallow factors like, "McCain picked a woman" and "She was a beauty queen" and other hoopla.

Lets get to the issues. Its all a game and 98% of the people are falling for it. What about the falling value of our dollar? What about the rising national debt and where is that taking us? What about the direction of our foreign policy over the last several decades that has created enemies for the U.S. and its citizens? Discuss how that could be changed.

Nope, pander to the simpletons who judge by just what they are shown, and what they are told. Give them a show to watch within the U.S. political theatre and watch them react.

I've seen a lot of "the liberals are so scared now!" comments about Palin. Well, I have to admit I am scared. But its not because I'm afraid Obama won't win. When I imagine the possibility of something happening to McCain and Palin being the president it absolutely terrifies me. Before this I was pro-Obama but not completely against McCain, I could respect what I used to see in him (but no longer see). But now, it seems like such a frightening prospect to have this woman who nobody knows anything about running the country. Did you see where McCain had not even met her in person about being the VP? They've only met one time and it was before the presidential race. I find that alone pretty scary.

I find it very insulting. McCain's whole thing so far has been about his experience, of which Palin has very little, and the only reason he picked her is to help gain women votes and to assume we are so shallow as to vote only because the VP is a women is offensive. I'm not saying Palin would be a terrible VP but the reasons behind it are all wrong, showing a lack of respect from McCain.
