  1. Of course I do, I can't move to the moon.

  2. I love the Earth, it's my home as much as my little house where I sleep at night.

I want this place of beauty to be here for it's own sake, even if all the people were wiped out by some catastophic disaster.

The harmony, balance and continuous motion and life of the planet itself is amazing. I'ts not a dead planet, it is constantly morphing into something different. Shorelines erode, volcanoes erupt, forests come & go. It's a place of unsurpassed beauty.

I try to do my part to protect it, not for my sake, but for the sake of all.

There was a plaque in my dentist's office when I was a child, I never forgot what it said, " ignore your teeth & they'll go away". Same goes for our fresh water supply, top-soil and fresh air- we'll miss them when they're gone!!!

Please don't ignore what little things you can do, this is home to all of us. like another poster said, "can't move to the moon".

Go ahead & hug a tree, be part of the harmony, the very minerals in your body are of this earth and the water in your tissues is 99.9% same chemical make-up as sea water.Love the planet!

  3. yes i care about the future of the earth but nothing can be done only if few ppl care 4 it...we all have to unite and work towards it..

  4. You see, the nifty thing is that the Earth and the Universe will continue to do a fine job of taking care of themselves.  They will eventually eradicate the Earth of these pesky human viruses.

And finally, once the Universe has reached heat death, it will be all ready to start all over again.

    Humans... pfft.

  5. No, I really don't give a hoot. I have not control over what happens, and I have not interest in that which I cannot control.

Besides, I will be dead in 100 years.

  6. 'If I'm going to be dead then no'.

But then again, the people who tend to agree with this may not have kids yet to care about. They may change their tune once they do.

So it possibly depends on your situation.

Possibly a better way of doing it would be to direct the question first to parents, and then the same to non-parents, and see what the results are.

I don't have children, and its a no from me.

  7. i dont really care about myself in the futre like wat happens to me but i care about wat will happen to my kids n stuff =)

  8. yes i do because many people are suffering right now many of them are refugees and homeless i think that we must help these people and if you go to their lands you could see that they are sharing one fruit or trying to cure their brothers and global warming is also causing holes in the poles which is killing many animals thats why people now are trying to use hydrogen instead of oil or gas they are gonna seperate hydrogen from water i think its a brilliant start and they must also think about the poor people.

  9. yeah

  10. yes i really do care about the future of the earth and i worry about it a lot even though i am only fourteen. i try to picture what it will be like when my great great grandkids are living here and i really find it hard to picture what the world will be like. i know we are making an effort to change to renewablelenergy but that isnt the only problem. there are also problems to do with over - population and lack of food.

  14. Not really but i planted some trees near my House because for their beauty.

second thing is that i cant hurt any body wether he will be the human or animal even plants

I know some people who really care about the future of earth

they r great people but not famous. they  help endanger species like leopard in Himalyas

  15. i care about the animals on earth being happy for millions of years to come, that requires earth to stay in tact, so, technically, yes i do.

  16. Yes, I do.

  17. okay, this might sound bad but if people i love and me and people who really deserved to be on the earth in the begining are off the earth and long time dead than no not really, like if in the future, theirs cancer cures, and more animals. than of coarse i do. but yeahhh

  18. Yes, of course I do.

It saddens me sometimes to see what has happened to many of the natural wonders on this planet, both animal and plant.

Examples of second hand accounts would be articles I have read about various species of animals that have been hunted to or near extinction.

Examples of things I have seen with my own eyes include the disappearance of various species of frogs that were native to an area of Colombia where I have a house.  20 years ago, you could find these little frogs that lived in these small plants, those small plants (Bromeliads) in turn lived in larger trees.  Rain water would collect in the leaves of the Bromeliads and make a nice little habitat for the frogs.  Well, frogs  also happen to be very sensitive to changes in their environment and are usually among the first organisms to suffer when the conditions of their environment change significantly from normal.  For at least the past 15 years, you cannot find frogs living in the Bromeliads in this area of Colombia.  They are gone.

Closer to home, here in NY, there is a lake which used to be clear and which you could go fishing in.  Also about 15 years ago, they built a few (literally, maybe 4 or 5) houses close to the lake.  Those homes are also not connected to a sewer system, but instead rely on Septic Tanks.  Well, guess what happens over time when the Phosphorous rich effluent from those septic systems finds its way into the lake?  Its equivalent to dumping bags of fertilizer in the water.  The natural balance of the lake has now been changed, and instead of being clean and clear and a nice habitat for fish, the lake is choked solid with lilly pads.  No fish can live in that environment, since the plants block the sun from penetrating the water and they also reduce the amount of surface area exposed to the air, so the Oxygen content of the water drops and the lake becomes a lifeless puddle.

I realize these are just a few examples, but between what I have seen and what I read about (such as the "Great Pacific Garbage Patch" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Pacif... ) it gets disheartening at times.

  19. I do very much so.

Beyond the fact that the earth is our lifeline I also have compassion for its other inhabitants & believe even the inanimate aspects to the earth deserves our respect as well. Go to a place where a mountain once existed but now no longer because of the evils of mountain top mining and maybe you'll get an even deeper sense of why this should be.

Yes, it is true not everyone cares (or at least outside how it affects them and those closest to them). But there are quite a few conscientious individuals out there who are working very hard to lessen the impact of man made environmental degradations. God's speed to these individuals. I just hope in my actions I can be viewed as one of their number.

  20. So scared for the earth's future. I mean to think that a mass this complex and amazing could be destroyed and put into critical condition in less than 10 years! Well atleast around that time. Like a spike!

And honestly... I dont think we can change the world now. Whatever we do is way to late. And if I, a 14-yr old, cannotice that then obviously it's a problem. and for all of those who claim the world will never end. Ha.. well we're about to find out what's what.

  21. I absalutely care about the earth cause where would we go to live if earth wasn't here we would all problably die evevtually.

  22. Of course i do, because when the earth is destroyed,

not only the earth will be destroyed, but also the entire human race! So we should care about the planet we live in.

  23. In order to save Gaia or to love Gaia, we must get back to basic. In the past people only eat to fill hunger, drink to replenish boby's require fluid and the sky is the enterainment. Gaia will have no problem or stress to turn round the sun.

  24. I do. Feel so bad to see the Earth changing.

    People wasting water.

    Farming land disappearing.

    Trees disappearing.

Rocks being blasted to make roads.

    Increase in AC use.

    and so on......

Do not have a very good knowledge of it. But I try keep it green. Do my bit with my limited knowledge.

  25. Yes I care.

  26. no..i actually dont. i mean...i care of what is to become of my future family when im dead...but honestly..i dont care. the world is falling apart as we speak. everyone will see one day..

god if anything...the world should end. we're in h**l already.

  27. Yes by doin the something which prevent the destrution and some provide the idea and education to the people
